High temperature resistance:
The melting point of graphite is as high as 3850±50ºC, even after ultra-high temperature arc burning, its weight loss is minimal, while the coefficient of thermal expansion is extremely small. As the temperature rises, the strength of graphite also shows an enhanced trend, and when it reaches 2000ºC, its strength is even doubled.
Electrical and thermal conductivity:
The electrical conductivity of graphite is much higher than that of general non-metallic minerals, more than one hundred times. Its thermal conductivity even exceeds that of metallic materials such as steel, iron and lead. Graphite's thermal conductivity decreases with increasing temperature, and even at very high temperatures also shows adiabatic properties. This is due to the fact that each carbon atom in graphite forms only three covalent bonds with other carbon atoms, retaining one free electron for charge transfer, thus achieving electrical conductivity.
Lubricity:
The lubricity of graphite is affected by the size of the graphite scales; the larger the scales, the lower the coefficient of friction and the better the lubricity.
Chemical Stability:
At room temperature, graphite exhibits excellent chemical stability against acids, alkalis, and organic solvents. This makes graphite stable in a wide range of harsh environments.
