Our graphite blocks and other graphite materials have the following characteristics:
(1) High temperature resistance, the melting point of graphite is 3850±50 ºC, even when undergoing ultra-high temperature arc burning, the weight loss is very small, and its coefficient of thermal expansion is also very low. As the temperature rises, the strength of graphite increases, and at 2000ºC, its strength can be doubled.
(2) Excellent in electrical and thermal conductivity, graphite's electrical conductivity is 100 times higher compared to general non-metallic materials. In addition, in terms of thermal conductivity is also better than steel, iron, lead and other metal materials. Although its thermal conductivity decreases or even reaches the level of an insulator as the temperature rises, it still maintains good insulating properties at extremely high temperatures. This is because each carbon atom forms only three covalent bonds with other carbon atoms, and each carbon atom retains a free electron to transfer charge.
(3) Excellent lubrication performance depends on the scale size. The larger the graphite, the lower the coefficient of friction and the better the lubrication effect.
(4) Good chemical stability, strong corrosion resistance to acids, alkalis and organic solvents at room temperature.
